For this week's colors theme I decided to set up a flower shop. I found a really cute set at Pre K Pages that included all of the signs, the banner, flower charts, cards, and order forms. For the amount of time it saved me, the $2 was definitely worth it!
Asking questions like "do you have any red flowers?" and "can I have 2 yellow flowers and 3 pink flowers" was a great way to work on colors and counting without Ava even realizing it.
Some of the signs had prices on them, and she has some play money for her cash register, so we talked a little bit about money and how much things costs, but she really isn't interested yet. Instead of trying to figure out how much money she needed, she kept wanting to pay for everything with the little credit card that came with the register - this does not bode well for the future!
She did receive quite a few phone calls for flower deliveries, and I was really impressed with her phone etiquette - very professional. Now if only that would transfer over to real life where she insists on nodding or shaking her head to answer questions while talking on the phone!
